Another day, another minor episode of Wii Bits. Or should we get hip and call it “Wii Bitz”? I think I’ll stick with plain old, tried and true Bits to keep things easy to read around here. We’ve rounded up a few Nintendo Wii stories going on today from our various news outlets and other sources; let’s see what we’ve got on the buffet!
- No Mario Galaxy till Christmas 2007? It could happen. According to Reggie Fils-Aime in an interview with MTV, Mario Galaxy could be here as early as March or as late as Christmas 2007. Also noted in the interview was Reggie’s note on the Virtual Console releases and how we can expect between 1 and 5 games every Monday on the online shop. Killer! I can’t wait to see what we’ve got this coming Monday in store for us. I’m hoping for more SNES or N64 games myself.
- WiiNintendo.Net has a cool little guide up showing you how you can cater your new Nintendo fansite to look and feel better when browsing with the Wii when Opera hits. It’s got some nice code peices and graphical samples you can use to mimic the online store found in the Wii. Some of this stuff looks cool, don’t be surprised if you see The Wii Experience using some of this in efforts to match the whole Wii style thing going on.
- Crazy Brian Crecente over at Kotaku has posted his impressions of the Classic controller and overall he seems to like it. He comments on it’s size compared to older pads, button placement, and how it works with various Virtual Console games. I’m torn between ponying up the $20 for this or just sticking with my Wavebird GC controller for classic gaming goodness.
- The Wii News and Weather channels have hard dates assigned to them for release on the official Wii.com site. Looks like we can expect to see the News Channel on January 27th while the Weather channel will be up and working as early as December 20th. Still no date for the Internet Channel but we’ll keep you updated if we find anything out about it.
- Keep an eye out in stores for Splinter Cell: Double Agent for the Nintendo Wii. The game should have started hitting stores around the 27th of November so you should be able to get your hands on it. Not much of a link needed here, but I will provide you with MetaCritics score page for it.
- And for your video watching pleasure today, I am going to leave you with this SUPER Nintendo Fan. No, not a fan of the Super Nintendo (although he very well may be), this guy is what we call a SUPER Nintendo Fan! Check out this video of a fan in line waiting for his Wii:
